Real Marketing Experience for You (RMEY) -- What is it?
RMEY is a simulated trading activity designed to give real-life application. Schools can form up to three teams, each representing a simulated farm. Through this activity students will become familiar with various marketing methods, marketing vocabulary, and how to find and read commodity prices and quotes.
What will RMEY include?
Classroom-ready lessons: 60 lessons on marketing. It will not be necessary to use all lessons. Each lesson includes a student portion with exercises and a test and a teacher guide with a lesson outline and answer keys.

What are the steps to using RMEY?
- Be sure you have received an e-mail with your exclusive username
and password for each team registered. You will need these to access
content and place and track trades.
- The following commodities are available for the activity: corn, soybeans,
soy meal, wheat, milk, live cattle and lean hogs. You must actively
trade all seven commodities.
- Select the lessons you will use to teach about risk management from the lessons tab. You may use all of the 60 lessons or select the ones you feel best fit your curriculum. The lessons can be used by individual students or by the team group. In general you can cover one to two lessons in each 45-minute class period. The amount of time needed may vary from lesson to lesson.
- Make simulated trades during the trading period. Be sure to access your account daily during the trading period to review your trade positions. The RMEY Rules give details.
- The on-line final exam will be available at the end of the trading session. You will be given 90 minutes to complete the test on-line. Once a team member selects the test button, the test must be completed. You will not be able to come back again, but must complete the test at one session. Test scores will be e-mailed to the instructor and they will also be listed on the team account statement.
